The bulk of coupons can be found just about every Sunday in the newspaper.  Usually during the holiday weeks there will be no coupons.  But that is not the only place you can find coupons.  Here are a few more places you should always keep your eye out for a really good coupon:

  1. Magazines – A lot of the monthly magazines will have some coupons in them.  They may be right on a page or on a little insert that you’ll find inside.  All You Magazine is known for over usually over $50 worth of coupons every single month.
  2. On or Inside product packaging -  Before you toss the package check inside or on the back there may be a coupon.  Sometimes there will be one right on the package that you can use on that purchase.  These are called Peelies.
  3. Blinkies – These are coupons that will be in a little machine hanging from the shelf at the store and they usually have a blinking light.
  4. Tearpads – These can be found either along the shelves at the supermarket, on a display in the aisle or at the end of the aisle but also a lot of convenience stores will have these at the register.  You can also take one to use later!
  5. Printable Coupons – There are a lot of printable coupon websites online.  You can do a search in google for printable coupons to find a lot of them.  Some manufacturer’s website will also have printable coupons.
  6. Write to the company – Most companies will have their contact information on the website.  If so then send them a short email telling them what you love about their products and ask them to put you on a mailing list to receive some coupons.  Most times they will and you almost always get higher value coupons then you’ll find in the weekend paper.
  7. Coupon Clipping Services – You can get coupons from Coupon Clipping services too.  They aren’t actually selling the coupons, that is illegal, but they are charging you a small handling fee for that covers the cost of sorting, cutting and sending you the coupons.  You can buy multiples of products that you buy most often and then stock up when they are on sale.
  8. Email – If you sign up on a company website to hear about their specials, products or updates, they may even send you a link to a coupon.

So really there are coupons in so many places and if you like to save money keep your eye out for the good ones.

Karen is a stay at home mom to 2 girls and in her spare time she blogs at Frugal Rhode Island Mama (http://www.frugalrimama.com) about using coupons along with store sales, store incentives and rebates to save on everyday items.
