This is really neat. My aunt just informed me about this last week. She was shipping some stuff overseas to Iraq for a family member that is stationed there! She asked the post office about sizes of boxes and the postage.

They showed her a 12″x 12″ box about 5 1/2 inches deep. This box is specially printed with “America Supports You” and it is only available to send packages to Service personnel. You can fill the box up with as much stuff as you can fit into it and weight is NOT a factor. My aunt mailed the box (weighing in over 10 pounds) for only $11.95 which would have been regularly priced over $65.
$11.95 is a “flat rate” for anyone sending something to a soldier overseas or even in the US.
Like I mentioned before weight is not a factor!!! Also, the post office doesn’t charge you for the box! To read more information please visit here.

Here is another great thing for our soldiers…send them your expired coupons. Our troops and their families based overseas can use these coupons on their base for up to 6 months past the manufacturer’s expiration date. Some of our bases even welcome you to send your coupons directly to them even if you do not personally know someone based overseas in the military. Coupons that are sent straight to the base will either be distributed to military families or located at the PX/Commissary available for military families to pick up.

To view more information regarding this or to see the list of bases that this is available for please visit grocerysavingtips.com.
