OFFICE MAX ROCKS! I got a special invitation a while back from Office Max to attend a webcast with THE Peter Walsh and several hundred other bloggers!!! This was such a fun and educational experience.  Office Max even sent me a big box of some adorable supplies from the “Darling Collection” of Schoolio-Von-Hoolio. The supplies are not only adorable, but the brand is so much fun to say! This has got to be the “hippest” new collection of supplies available! My daughter is just starting Pre-K so she can’t use alot of the supplies yet. She picked out a few of the folders and the pencil case, etc. Now…me on the other hand, I am looking forward to using some of the supplies when I go to the General Mills Table Talk Event! :) I have always loved supplies, pens, binders, clips, labels, bins. You name it..I love it! I am not the best at organization, although I would love to be!

I recently attended the “Get Organized for Back-to-School” exclusive webcast with Peter Walsh and I learned alot! You might recognize Peter Walsh from The Oprah Show…he is a true Guru to organization!!  Below are some of the topics listed from the webcast that I wanted to share with you:

TIPS FOR ORGANIZING YOUR HOME
1) Take a look at the space you have available to you (a clean work area in a MUST)
2) Make organization a family value
3) Use the right tools for great organization (make the most of your backpack- use all pockets to separate items, folders, bins, etc.)

TIPS FOR ORGANIZING YOUR CHILD
1) Show that you value organization
2) Establish clear limits and routines (try a calendar, it helps alot. Also, clean out backpacks daily, they tend to acquire alot of extra “junk”)
3) Always complete tasks (this helps with staying organized and “on top” of things and it also teaches responsibility)

TIPS FOR THE CLASSROOM
1) Establish clear cut routines
2) Involve kids with classroom organization
3) Use words, pictures and colors to help organize (labels, different colored folders/bins, etc)

BIG THANKS TO OFFICE MAX AND PETER WALSH!
